Storage quotes can look hard to compare. One provider gives a single monthly figure, another breaks it into rent, transport and insurance, and a third asks for a deposit you weren't expecting. Once you know what goes into the number, it's much easier to tell whether a quote fits what you need.
This guide explains each part of a self storage bill at our facilities in Delhi, Gurugram and Noida. It doesn't list rates, because they depend on the room and the dates. Ask us for a quote on your own inventory.
Why does room size matter most?
You're paying for floor space, so a bigger room costs more each month. That's why sizing is the first step. Book too big and you pay for empty floor every month. Book too small and things get left behind on moving day.

Is a private room or box storage cheaper?

For a handful of cartons, box storage usually works out cheaper than renting a whole room. Once furniture comes into it, a private room is the practical option.
Does how long you store change the cost?
Our plans are billed monthly, so you pay for the months you use. That suits gaps between flats, renovations and other short stays. For longer stays, such as a posting abroad, ask whether a longer commitment changes the quote. Don't assume it does or doesn't. Get it in writing.
Which add-ons change the total?
- Pickup and transport. We work with moving partners for door-to-door pickup. The cost depends on distance, the size of the load and access at your building, such as floor and lift.
- Packing. Packing done for you, and materials such as cartons and wrap, cost extra over storage rent. Packing yourself saves money. Our guide to packing materials helps.
- Insurance. Optional cover for stored goods is available. Ask what it covers, the sum insured and any exclusions.
- Return delivery. If you'll want things brought back to a new address, ask for that to be quoted too.

How can you bring the monthly cost down?
- Declutter first. Every item you sell or donate is space you don't pay for. Our decluttering tips are a good start.
- Take furniture apart. Beds, tables and some wardrobes take far less floor space when dismantled.
- Stack well. Using the room's height can let you book a smaller room. See placing items in self storage.
- Pack yourself if you have time, and pay only for transport.
- Move out once you're done. On a monthly plan, finishing early means you stop paying.

How do you compare two quotes fairly?
Line them up item by item. Check that both quotes are for the same room size, and whether each one includes GST, the deposit, transport, packing and insurance. A low rent with a large transport charge can end up costing more than a higher rent that includes pickup. Also ask about access: whether you can visit when you need to, and whether it's a private, lockable room.

- Pickup address, floor and whether there's a lift
- Decision on packing yourself or having it done
- Whether you want insurance, and the rough value of your goods
