Store banners, standees, signboards, canopies, brochures and site-office furniture in a nearby room. Dry and roll banners, protect board edges, keep brochures raised off the floor and pack launch kits with lists. Self Storage India offers private, lockable rooms with 24/7 CCTV, regular pest control, monthly plans with no lock-in and a GST invoice for business customers.

Real estate brokers and channel partners in Delhi NCR work out of small offices but handle a lot of physical material. Site boards, flex banners, standees, canopies, brochures, site-office furniture and launch-event props all come and go as projects launch, sell out and give way to the next one. Keeping it all in the office takes up space meant for clients, and leaving it with builders or in a car means it gets lost or damaged. A nearby storage room keeps this material ready for the next site visit or launch. This guide covers what to store, how to prepare it and how to run storage around a busy sales calendar.

Why do brokers need storage?

  • Project launches. Each launch brings banners, standees, canopies and brochure stock that is used for weeks and then sits idle.
  • Site offices. Temporary site offices need tables, chairs, display racks and fans that come back when a project sells out.
  • Property expos. Stalls, backdrops and display stands are used a few times a year.
  • Directional signage. Boards and arrows for weekend site visits are put up and taken down again and again.
  • Office moves. Furniture and files need a home while you shift or refit.

How should signage and banners be prepared?

  1. Clean off dust and mud. Outdoor boards and banners pick up dirt at sites. Wipe them down so it doesn't scratch other material.
  2. Dry everything fully. A banner rolled up damp after rain will grow mould and stain. Spread it out to dry first.
  3. Roll banners, don't fold them. Folds crack the print on flex and vinyl. Roll with the printed side out around a tube.
  4. Remove ropes and ties. Coil ropes, zip ties and bungees separately and keep them in a labelled bag with the banner.
  5. Protect board edges. Stack boards on their edges with cardboard or foam between them, so faces don't scratch.
  6. Label by project. Write the project name, size and type on the outside of each roll or bundle.

How should brochures and printed material be stored?

Brochures, price sheets and floor-plan booklets are expensive to reprint, and paper is easily ruined by damp. Keep them in sealed boxes, raised off the floor on pallets or shelves, and add silica gel packs in the monsoon. Label each box with the project, item and quantity, such as "Project A brochures, 500". When a project's price list or layout changes, recycle the old material rather than storing it, so no one hands out outdated information by mistake. Our guide to storing marketing collateral goes into more detail.

How do you store site-office furniture and equipment?

When a project sells out, the site office usually closes within days. Plan for it: list what's there, clean and dry it, and pack it all in one trip. Fold tables and chairs where you can and stack them with padding in between. Wrap display racks and model stands carefully, since they often have glass or acrylic panels. Coil the cables from fans, lights and screens, and keep small fittings in labelled bags taped to the furniture they belong to. When the next site office opens, the whole set can go out together. Our tips on storing display fixtures also apply here.

How should client files be stored?

Brokers often hold copies of agreements, KYC documents, booking forms and commission records. Keep sensitive files in locked, labelled boxes and index them by project and date, so you can find a file without opening every box. Keep original documents with the client or in a secure place you control, and don't store anything you're required to destroy. You lock the room with your own padlock and keep the only key, and the facility has 24/7 CCTV. Read security questions for businesses before you decide what to store.

How does storage help with launches and expos?

A project launch or property expo often means setting up quickly and taking everything down again in a few hours. Pack each event setup as a kit: backdrop, standees, table covers, brochure stands, a small toolkit and a list of contents. Keep kits together and check them after each event, since small items like cable ties and brochure holders go missing. With everything in one place, your team can load a kit for a Saturday launch in one trip instead of collecting it from three offices and a builder's godown.

How do you plan weekend site-visit signage?

Weekend site visits often need directional boards at key turns, and those boards come back on Sunday evening. Keep a standard set of boards per project, numbered so you know every one came back. Store the set together and check for damage before the next weekend. Confirm the facility's operating hours with the team before planning Friday and Monday pickups around your visit schedule. Read how access hours and visits work.

How do you protect stored material through the monsoon?

Outdoor signage comes back wet and muddy far more often during the rains, and paper collateral is easily ruined by humidity. Set a simple rule for the team: nothing goes into storage wet. Dry banners and canopies at the office or site first, even if that means a second trip. Keep brochure boxes on shelves rather than the floor, add silica gel packs, and check boxes of paper every few weeks from July to September. Wooden boards can swell and warp, so stand them on their edges with space for air. Our monsoon storage tips have more detail.

How do you keep track of stored material?

Keep a simple register: item, project, quantity, condition, date stored and where it sits in the room. Update it whenever something goes in or out, and share it with your team so no one reprints material you already have. Our inventory guide shows a format you can use. Insurance for stored goods can be facilitated via partners; read how storage insurance works.

How does billing work for a brokerage?

Costs depend mainly on the space you use and how long you use it. Monthly plans have no lock-in, which suits material tied to a project's sales cycle. Business customers can get a GST invoice. Partner pickup, packing and transport are available across Delhi NCR at an additional cost; see how pickup works.
